The abilities of Dolphins
Among all the creatures that live in the ocean; an unexpected mammal has the same intelligence as human beings have, dolphins. It was found that dolphins have the ability to be alert, they have their own unique personalities and that their capacity for intelligence is very high. One case will be Ciere, a dolphin that a scientis was working with. The scientis would reward her if she did what the scientis wanted her to do something, if the dolphin did not do then, the scientist would do what is called “time-out”. This meant that the scientists would turn her back and walk away, the dolphin reward for doing what it was command of her was to get a fish but without the tail. The dolphin Ciere did not like the fish with the tail, one day the scientist forgot to cut the tail and Ciere spit it out, Ciere the dolphin turn around give her back to the scientist and walk away. This means that dolphin can copy what we humans do, the scientist was using time out as a correction for the dolphin and the dolphin end up using it on the scientist. This experiment shows that dolphins do understand what human beings are asking of them and that they also can feel disappointment when not getting what they want, because of their high intelligence they show us humans that dolphin can be displeased too. Also, in the moment of capturing dolphins from the wild does not mean that they would cooperative, in some cases the dolphin would not survive, because of the impact that the dolphin are not use to being trap. Furthermore it is concluded that because of their high intelligence dolphins can be traumatize if taken from captivity and use them for entertainment or to show them off for profit. Because of their big brains and intelligence the dolphin was classified as the second smartest creature on earth.
In the movie the “Cove” is show how bottlenose dolphins are being brutally murder, killing them slowly and hunted down to be sale for profit. All this take place in Taiji Japan, a lot of dolphins are being murder to be eaten and eating dolphin Is not good for human beings because dolphins are poison. Dolphin contains a dangerously high levels of mercury on their body. This is because we humans burn mercury going to the ocean, from their little marine creatures drink it and from their big marine creatures eat this animals and end up passing the mercury to does big predators. Human beings are the top predators in the food chain, this means individuals go out and hunt for animals, animals don’t stand a chance to escape our advance hunting tools. This applies to the dolphin, they don’t stand a chance even if individuals don’t tried to capture them and on top of all they are not meant to be eaten by humans. Humans by eating such an intelligent mammal they are eating mercury which can cause brain damage for us, also it can cause for problems for human babies, they can be born with some kind of disease that can be incurable for them. Also dolphin might be extinct if not stop the unnecessary massacre, in a town name Ikki in Japan they use to be a lot of dolphin but with the amount of excessively killing, there is not a single dolphin in that town any more and that can happen in Taiji and other parts of the world.
